"For he commands his angels with regard to you, to guard you wherever you go" (Ps. 91:11). How often does it occur to you that you are never alone? Yes, God is everywhere and always present with us, but He has given us someone else to be with us all the time: our guardian angels. The Diocese of Gary is dedicated to the guardian angels. So for us, the Feast of the Guardian Angels (October 2) is a special day. Who are our Guardian Angels? Very few people have been given the grace to see their guardian angel, but that does not mean that they are not there. Our guardian angels protect and guide us, oftentimes without us even thinking about their intervention. Their job is to help bring us to Heaven, the place of eternal happiness which they leave to watch over us. Isn't it beautiful to think that we will get to enjoy Heaven with our guardian angels right next to us? A Prayer to your Guardian Angel Always remember to pray to your guardian angel. Here is a simple, well-known Prayer to Our Guardian Angels: Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day (or night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
